A Madmen Kind of Dress

Oh boy oh boy. I went down to Provo Utah this weekend. It was seriously such a blast. Went to the Festival of Colors. Don't know what it is? Watch this amazing video! Watch it right now. You won't be sorry. On a side note, my friend Fresh Big Mouf did the music. Yeah, I know some pretty talented people.

Cool right?!!? Plus I got to see some great people and eat some yummy food. What's there not to love? But importantly for this blog I was able to go to Plato's Closet which is a thrift store that operates a bit differently. How you ask? Well they buy clothes from people and they resell them. They aren't the cheapest BUT they have some pretty magnificent finds. Look at this freakin' dress! It looks like they used it in the wardrobe for Madmen doesn't it?!? Plus, guess what guys??? IT HAS POCKETS! How am I not to love a dress with pockets? It was love and first sight. It also came with the cutest little belt. And would ya just look at the white trim along the dress? To die for. Anyways just look at this beauty. Would ya just look at it?

Dress: $12
Covergirl lipstick "Hot Passion" (Spicy right?): $5.94

Ladies and Magentalmen...

You don't even know how happy I am right now!!!! The sun is out, I feel the warmth on my skin...this is how I wish it would be all the time! I'm from California so you wouldn't think I'd be excited about 60 degree weather but if you knew Idaho then man you'd be jumping for joy too!!! haha Today in spirit of spring and bright colors, I'm sporting some hot magenta pants! In my old ward (church group) this girl was going to donate a large majority of her clothes because she was moving but before she could I said hold on there little lady! Let me take a peek at what you're donating...and low and behold I found these great airy, breezy summer pants! They are so great! I am also wearing some earrings from Venice Beach, CA and then this belt is from a dress I gave away and thought I was going to throw it away but I'm glad I didn't! Wear a smile today everyone it's the best accessory a person could wear ;)

Hot magenta pants: Free!
Belt: Technically free because it came with a dress haha
Shell earrings: No more than $10 because I can't remember the exact price!

Some Rad Plaid

Ahhh! I love this plaid button down so much! Probably because honestly i'm a boy at heart and like being comfy. I just love the blues and yellows and greens. All my favorite colors! Guess where I got it from?? My roommate! Have you guys ever done a clothes swap? So basically you clean out your closet and so does another person or really however many people you want and you exchange clothes! It's the best. One man's trash is another's treasure. I know you're probably thinking well if you exchange it then you're not paying for anything right? RIGHT! Precisely my point! Do a clothes swap in your neighborhood or with your lady friends. Shoot guys too!
(I've been known to wear men's shirts with belts.)

Yellow, Blue, Green Plaid Shirt: FREE
Scarf from Etsy: Free (It was a gift from my mama. The lady has taste)
Watch from Amazon: $25 BEST $25 bucks for a watch! This watch matches everything, works like a dream, and is sleek. I love this thing.

A 50s Peach

This retro styled gem was found at Desert Industries. It's a beautiful shade of Peach/ Salmon. I know I know I'm obsessing with this color lately! But Spring is in the air and I can't help it! I also am sporting some adorable Dahlia style flower earrings from the Farmer's Market in Provo, Utah from last summer. I am a HUGE supporter of crafters of any kind! There is something so special that comes from human touch that you just can't get from machines! A little love goes a long way for me :)

Dress: $6
Belt: $1
Earrings: $8

A Mr. Rogers Sweater

This sweater takes grandma sweaters to a new level! Just look at that fun Salmon color that's to die for! I think it's rather comical because doesn't it look like a Mr. Roger's sweater but meant for a female?!? This is partially why I fell in love; taking me back to my childhood years all in a form of a sweater.

Mr. Roger's sweater: $5
Scarf: A gift from my aunt from World Market

Hoarders and Purses

OH MY HECK! This is seriously probably the best find. I'm not even joking. I sold it to my friend because I only wear one purse but it's so dang beautiful it was difficult parting ways. So this purse is an original Dooney & Bourke purse I found at a thrift shop called Macy's in Idaho Falls. The shop is ran by some cool old lady that I'm pretty sure is a hoarder but it's ok because she hoards stuff like THIS!

Pristine Dooney & Bourke purse: $12
(Yes, you may drop your jaw now.)

A jisket a jasket? Nope a cute jacket!

Alright so here in Idaho it's that weird in between where it's too warm for a coat but not warm enough for a sweater. I resolved to search for a light jacket! I came across this beaut at Deseret Industries:

Charcoal Jacket with adorable large buttons: $6
Berry tights from Target: $3
Pearl studs I inherited from my grandma: Priceless.

Coral Cutie

It's Spring time! You know what that means...I went and purged through all my clothes and of course when you clean out your wardrobe you have to replenish it right?...(well at least that's what I tell myself! haha) I suppose it really doesn't hurt when you're thrifting haha. Well anyways. I left my house with 2 full bags to donate to Deseret Industries. After I dropped the clothes I peeked around for a bit. I found SUCH cute things there! I was looking for some spring cuties to don. I then hit up K-Mart and got some lipstick! This is what I found:

A darling Christopher Banks coral/peach skirt: $5
Leather belt imprinted with flowers: $1
Maybelline Coral Crush Lipstick: $6
The earrings I had from a Farmer's Market: $2
Happy Stylin'!
